iHire Honored as One of Maryland’s Healthiest Workplaces

Recruiting technology provider receives Gold Wellness at Work Award

Frederick, Maryland – June 11, 2019 – iHire has achieved a Gold Wellness at Work Award from Healthiest Maryland Businesses for its exemplary programs and policies designed to promote workplace health and wellness. This marks iHire’s fifth consecutive year of recognition and third straight gold-level honor.

The Wellness at Work Awards are sponsored by Healthiest Maryland Businesses, the State’s initiative to support healthy workplaces. Recognition criteria are based on the Center for Disease Control’s (CDC) Workplace Health Model. Applicants are asked to describe activities and share examples of policies and tools developed and utilized in the four areas of assessment: planning, management, implementation, and evaluation. Employers may earn a Gold, Silver, Bronze, or On the Path Award based on their activities to establish leadership support for wellness, create wellness committees, survey the needs and interests of their employees, set health improvement goals, and develop monitoring tools to track their outcomes over time.

iHire’s recognition stems from its commitment to its employees’ wellbeing through initiatives, benefits, and other workplace perks including: medical, dental, and vision insurance; a full-service Employee Assistance Program (EAP); flexible scheduling; unlimited paid time off (PTO); bi-weekly yoga classes; a stocked kitchen with healthy snacks; walking meetings; a Wellness Spending Account (WSA) that reimburses staff for wellness-related expenses; and more. Validating the effectiveness of these programs, iHire’s monthly employee surveys continuously show high marks for employee wellness, happiness, personal growth, and recognition.

“Addressing our employees’ wellbeing is nothing short of a priority,” said Steve Flook, President and CEO, iHire. “When everyone is healthy and happy, we are more productive, agile, and innovative. Earning recognition like the Gold Wellness at Work Award inspires our staff to support our efforts while helping us build on our historic company growth.”
