POSITION SUMMARY

WAI, a leading international automotive parts manufacturing and distribution company, is looking for top talent to join our Distribution Center team! This position will assist the outbound supervisor in coordinating activities of workers engaged in verifying, record keeping, allocation and picking operations. They will ensure outgoing shipments business needs and targets are met on a daily basis.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Studies shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping schedules
  • Assist in overseeing outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments
  • Assist in determining space requirements and position of shipment in trucks
  • Inspects loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications
  • Inspects material handling equipment for defects and notifies maintenance personnel or Supervisor with any concerns
  • Assist in directing movement of shipments from shipping to staging area
  • Prepares bills of lading
  • Opening or Closing of the building
  • Mentor/Training of associates
  • Maintains harmony among associates and resolves grievances
  • Other duties as assigned based on business needs or managements request

QUALIFICATIONS ( Education, Experience, & Skills required)

Education - High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or two + years related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills and Ability Follows instructions and responds to management direction, general office skills required. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions. Must be able to recognize similarities and difference between words and a series of numbers.
