Position Summary :
Manage the International transportation to ensure that all inbound and outbound shipments are processed quickly, safely, and within budget constraints. Develop and implement policies and procedures for the company's international transportation requirements and continuous process improvements throughout the company.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: (Additional duties may be assigned)
30% Manage the flow of goods for international transportation (both import and export) to ensure efficient and timely receipts or shipments including delivery, scheduling, document preparation and compliance with government regulations.
20% Communicate with staff to establish daily goals, coordinate shipping, receiving and ensure the proper receipt and put away of inbound merchandise.
20% Coordinate with import/export freight brokers to develop global transportation and compliance programs as well as develop strategies for continuous process improvements.
20% Respond to telephone and email inquiries from both internal and external customers and act as a liaison between departments in the resolution of day-to-day administrative and operational problems.
5% Audit and approve all international freight invoices before payment is made.
5% Monitor and report on international transportation costs and act on opportunities to improve service and lower costs to maintain financial stability for the organization.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
The International Transportation Manager has direct supervision over the receiving staff and works in conjunction with QC. Responsibilities include recruiting, interviewing, and hiring, instructing and training in work methods, scheduling, assigning and approving work, conducting performance evaluations and making recommendations regarding unsatisfactory employees.
QualificationsEducation and Experience:
- Degree in supply chain, logistics, materials management, or closely related field
- Five to eight years previous experience in supply chain/logistics field
Special Requirements:
- Occasional day, overnight and weekend nationwide travel
- Ability to be on-call on a regular basis

Work is performed in both an office and warehouse environment with exposure to temperature changes and noise
