Primary Duties: Obtain and prepare warp, draw the requested pattern, remove pattern for the Draw-in-Machine and aside the pattern to storage after the pattern operator smashes the pattern.

Tools Required: Reed-Chatwood Draw-in-Machine, complete set of hand tools, necessary gauges and specialty tools, Company issued lock out/tag out, Power On caution tag, goggles/safety glasses, dust mask, steel toe shoes, utility knife, cut resistant glove, scissors, reed hook, OSHA approved air nozzle for compressed air, ear plugs, tugger with trailer, and brooms.

Materials Used: Dropwires, harnesses, masking tape, tie strings, oil, kerosene, and lubricants.

Supervision Exercised: None; receives instructions from Supervisor, or Weaving Department Manager. Associate works with minimum supervision.

Job Procedures:

  1. Follow all established Plant Safety rules.

  2. Perform warp storage work for drawing the pattern.

  3. Prepare creel (hand harnesses, load warp, etc,).

  4. Prepare warp to draw (set up draw-in machine).

  5. Install reed. Check air flow. Clean reeds as needed.

  6. Draw the warp pattern.

  7. Remove creel from draw-in-machine.

  8. Move pattern to storage.

  9. Order reeds, drop wires, heddles, and repair parts for draw-in-machine.

  10. Perform scheduled cleaning and lubrication of the draw-in-machine.

  11. Punch patterns as needed using the Pattern Puncher.

  12. Perform maintenance and repairs on the draw-in-machine.

  13. Perform end of shift cleaning of the Draw-In area.

  14. Check emergency stops for proper operation, as scheduled.

  15. Maintain spare component inventory, pick up reeds/parts from the Supply Room.

  16. Assist other Technicians when needed.

  17. Perform all other duties as directed by management.

Minimum Job Requirements: Must be able to read and write. Must have basic math and computer skills. Must be cleared by Occupational Nurse for vision and color vision. Adequate mechanical aptitude performance is required.

Follow all Safety Rules, and comply with the Job Safety & Health Analysis (JSHA). All Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be used as required. Any accident or near miss must be reported immediately.
