Job Title: Wastewater Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Wastewater Technician to join our team on the 2nd shift from 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm. Training will take place on the 1st shift for up to 4 weeks. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting and sampling wastewater throughout the shift to ensure environmental standards are met. You will also perform routine inspections, troubleshoot, repair, and replace mechanical equipment as necessary.
Responsibilities
Collect and sample wastewater throughout the shift to ensure environmental standards are met.
Perform routine inspection on chemical pumps and wastewater systems.
Troubleshoot, repair, and replace mechanical equipment.
Perform daily tests of utilities and log results.
Review laws and regulations regarding wastewater and treatment.
Set up and operate various machines and assemble parts as directed by the Cell Lead.
Use computer-controlled equipment to operate and monitor automatic or semi-automatic machines in the plating line.
Adjust machine settings to complete more complex tasks according to specifications.
Inspect products to ensure they conform to specifications and industry standards.
Essential Skills
Wastewater treatment experience
Chemical testing experience
Experience performing routine inspection on chemical pumps and wastewater systems
Experience collecting and sampling wastewater
Forklift operation experience
Machine operation experience
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Wastewater technician or operator certification preferred
Prior manufacturing and machine operator experience desired
Ability to read, understand, and interpret blueprints and drawings
Strong mechanical aptitude
Effective communication skills
Knowledge of various types of equipment such as air and power tools, rulers, gauges, micrometers, calipers, and tape measures

The work environment is non-climate controlled and clean. It includes two lines of machines related to manufacturing copper grounding, such as extruders, winders, and platers.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fairmont, North Carolina.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
