Precision Mechanical Inspector/CMM Programmer in Newburyport, MA 3.0 on July 17, 2017 First Piece and Final Inspection duties. At the time of my departure, company was adopting new CEO, taking over from owner of company. There were many struggles but I am certain that in the last few years, things have normalized.

In a normal day your inspection can cover medical, aerospace and military/military contractors parts at every stage of development from raw materials to finished parts and assemblies so that you are constantly engaged in different types of inspections using multiple inspection techniques from simple micrometer and caliper measurements to using state of the art CMM equipment. My learning curve on this job was very steep going from repair/maintenance/operation to learning a completely new language; metrology, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing, manufacturing and what equipment/tools being used were capable of doing. My co-workers were extremely helpful in this process, most of them having gone through the same thing given all of their varied backgrounds and histories helped in this endeavour. Management was also very helpful and encouraging from the owner/CEO to my direct supervisor being genuinely concerned about me. The hardest part of the job was also the most enjoyable in that whatever I was doing I was continuously being challenged and always learning something new about how to do my work whether it was how to use a new inspection device, learning its capabilities, a different way of measuring or what to look for when called out by print or instruction.
