Assistant Plant Manager Jobs
An Assistant Plant Manager in the manufacturing industry plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of a manufacturing plant, ensuring all activities are carried out smoothly, efficiently and within the set budget. Their responsibilities often include assisting the Plant Manager in planning, directing, coordinating, and improving the manufacturing process to guarantee timely production and quality. They are also involved in scheduling and managing staff, maintaining safety standards, and liaising with other departments, such as Sales and Logistics, to achieve the company's goals.
Important skills for an Assistant Plant Manager include strong leadership and decision-making abilities, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, good knowledge of industry safety standards, and proficiency in using manufacturing software. They should also have a solid understanding of lean manufacturing principles and possess a problem-solving mindset. It's beneficial for them to have relevant certifications such as Certified Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or a Six Sigma certification, in addition to a degree in business management, industrial engineering, or a related field.
