General Manager Jobs
A General Manager in the manufacturing industry oversees the overall functionality of the manufacturing unit. They are responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing all operational activities within the manufacturing unit to ensure that production meets the company's objectives. Important skills for a General Manager in manufacturing include strong leadership, strategic planning, and excellent communication abilities. They should have a comprehensive understanding of manufacturing processes, project management, and lean manufacturing principles. Familiarity with industry-specific software and proficiency in data analysis is also beneficial. Certifications such as a Certified Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) from APICS can be advantageous. Prior to becoming a General Manager, individuals might have roles such as Production Supervisor, Operations Manager, or Plant Manager.
