Job Description


Principal Duties/Responsibilities:

Oils and greases moving parts of friction surfaces of mechanical equipment, such as shaft and motor bearings, sprockets, drive chains, gears, and pulleys, according to specified procedures and verbal instructions.

Inspects tools, equipment and/or parts for defects and wear and reports damage or wear to Supervisors.

Keeps all parts clean and orderly in the proper locations.

Operates industrial vacuum truck to clean out industrial fluid tanks, overflows/containments, and carry out fluid spill response.

Operates powered industrial truck to transport industrial fluids and supplies.

Participates actively in team meetings.

Participates in quality initiatives; continually improves processes; quantitatively monitors processes.

Completes required training and development curriculum and uses skills and techniques presented.

Adheres to company/customer policies and procedures.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSAs), & Competencies:

Essential KSAs:

High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

Must be able to legally operate a motor vehicle; must have valid license to operate a lift truck.

Ability to: work successfully with computers and software; read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; write simple correspondence; effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization; add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; compute percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs; apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands/fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb, ascend/descend or balance to heights that may require a ladder or lift; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in confined spaces; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. The employee is regularly required to use close vision and color vision. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. Work is typically performed in a factory environment and is usually very loud. In the factory environment, the employee may be exposed to hazardous materials and/or greasy or slippery factory floor.
